Delete Your Account & Data
Last updated: 25 June 2026
Ana is operated by Rememora Ltd. Your recordings are yours, and you can delete your account and everything in it whenever you want. There are two ways: from inside the app in a few taps, or — if you can no longer open the app — by sending us a request below.
Open Ana and go to Settings → Delete account to remove your profile, pairings, and recordings yourself. If you've lost access to the app, use the request form on this page and we'll do it for you. Deletion is permanent — once your recordings are purged, we can't get them back.
Delete from inside the app
This is the fastest way and puts you in control:
- Open Ana on your phone.
- Go to Settings → Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted.
This removes your profile and account data, your pairings, and the records of your recordings straight away. The underlying recording files are then purged and any copies in our encrypted backups age out, on the timeline below.
Delete a single recording
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove one call. In the app, open the recording you want to remove and choose Delete. It's taken out of your archive immediately, and the underlying file is purged on the same timeline as account deletion. Your account and your other recordings are untouched.
Request deletion without the app
If you've uninstalled Ana or can't sign in, you can still ask us to delete your account and recordings. Tell us the phone number on your account so we can find it. To protect you, we verify that you control that number before we delete anything — we'll reach out to confirm it's really you, then remove your account and recordings.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, we remove:
- Your profile and display name.
- Your phone number and the account identifier linked to it.
- Your pairings with the people you've connected with.
- All of your recordings — audio, video, and the thumbnails made from them.
- Push-notification tokens for your devices.
- The usage and crash diagnostics tied to your account identifier.
What we keep, and for how long
Once deletion completes, we don't keep your profile or your recordings. The only things we may retain are minimal records the law requires us to keep — and those never include your recordings. Here's the timeline:
| What | When it's gone |
|---|---|
| Account, profile, display name, pairings | Removed immediately, the moment deletion is confirmed. |
| Your recordings (audio, video, thumbnails) | Purged within 30 days. |
| Copies held in encrypted backups | Roll off within 90 days as those backups age out. |
| Records we're legally required to keep | Only for as long as the law requires, and never your recordings. |
How long a request takes
We action web requests within 30 days and email you to confirm when it's done. For unusually complex cases we may take up to 90 days, in line with data- protection law — if so, we'll tell you within the first 30 days and explain why.
