Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 June 2026

Ana is a place to record calls with the people you love and keep them safe. Those recordings are precious and personal, so we collect as little as we can, we never sell your data or use it for advertising, and we are honest about how it is stored. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

In short

We collect your phone number and name to run your account, the recordings you choose to make, and basic device, usage, and crash information to keep the app working. We don't track you across other apps, show ads, or sell your data. Recordings are encrypted in transit and at rest. Ana is not end-to-end encrypted. You can delete your account and your recordings at any time.

Who we are

Ana is operated by Rememora Ltd ("Ana", "we", "us"). This policy covers the Ana mobile app and this website. If you have any questions, contact us at privacy@rememora.ai.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to provide Ana:

WhatWhy we collect it
Phone numberTo create and secure your account and to verify you by SMS one-time code. It's how people you pair with reach you.
Display nameThe name shown to the people you're paired with.
Your recordingsThe audio and video of the calls you choose to record, and still-frame thumbnails generated from them. This is the content you create and keep.
Account identifierA random account ID we assign you, used internally to link your profile, pairings, and recordings.
Device informationPush-notification tokens (so we can ring your device for incoming calls) and your app and operating-system version.
Usage & diagnosticsHow the app is used (screens, taps, key actions) and crash and performance data, so we can find and fix problems and improve Ana.

Our analytics and crash-reporting tools are configured to record activity against your account ID only — we deliberately keep your phone number, name, and the contents of your recordings out of them.

What we don't collect

Ana has no advertising identifiers (no IDFA), no advertising or data-broker SDKs, no location tracking, no access to your contacts, and no browsing history. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Recording and consent

Recording only happens when you start a recorded call. Before a call begins you see a consent prompt, and a recording indicator is shown while the call is live so it's always clear when recording is happening. A recording is visible only to you and the person you are paired with. Please only record calls with people who are comfortable being recorded, and be aware that laws on recording calls vary by location — it's your responsibility to record lawfully where you and the other person are.

How we use your information

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.

How your information is shared

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Ana, and only as needed to provide the service:

These providers act on our behalf under agreements that limit how they may use your data. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and Ana.

How your information is protected

All data is encrypted in transit using standard TLS. Your recordings are encrypted at rest, with a unique key per recording protected by a managed key-management service.

To be clear and honest: Ana is not end-to-end encrypted. Producing a faithful recording requires our servers to process the call as it happens, which means we are technically able to access the recording to provide and safeguard the service. We tell you this plainly so you can decide what to record. We do not listen to, watch, or share your recordings except as needed to operate the service or where required by law.

How long we keep it, and deletion

We keep your account information and recordings for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. Deleting your account removes your profile and account data and the records of your recordings; the underlying encrypted recording files are then purged on a routine basis, and residual copies in encrypted backups are removed as those backups age out. You can also request deletion — including if you can no longer open the app — and see the full timeline on our deletion page.

International transfers

Ana is operated from the United Kingdom and uses service providers in the European Union and the United States. Where your information is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the providers' standard contractual clauses) to protect it.

Children

Ana is not directed to children. You must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use Ana. We do not knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email privacy@rememora.ai. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Ana evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
